Types of hysterectomy:

In partial hysterectomy, the surgeon only removes the uterus, but the cervix remains intact. However, keeping the cervix retained increases the chance of cervical cancer. It is why this hysterectomy is not generally performed.
2. Total hysterectomy:
In a total hysterectomy, the surgeon removes the whole uterus, including the cervix, from the woman’s body. Since the cervix is removed too in total hysterectomy, there is no chance of cervical cancer. It is why it’s preferred over partial hysterectomy.
3. Radical hysterectomy:
In a radical hysterectomy, the surgeon removes the uterus along with fallopian tubes, cervix, and one or both ovaries from the woman’s body. A hormone replacement therapy is required if both the ovaries get removed in radical hysterectomy. Radical hysterectomy is performed when all the methods fail to treat cancer of the reproductive organs.

The small camera allows the surgeons to see the internal organs. Once they see the uterus, they cut it into small pieces with the help of their instruments. In this way, the uterus gets removed from the woman’s body.
2. Abdominal hysterectomy surgery:
An abdominal hysterectomy procedure is followed by the surgeons when the patient suffers from a pelvic tumor, and it’s not possible to remove it through the vagina. In this procedure, the incision is made on the tummy to remove the womb.
3. Vaginal hysterectomy surgery:
In a vaginal hysterectomy, an incision is made on the top of the vagina. The surgical instruments are inserted inside the vagina to remove the womb and cervix from the woman’s body. Vaginal hysterectomy is preferred over abdominal hysterectomy because it completes in a short time, and the recovery rate is also fast.
